There are a lot of hit and run accidents that are not given claims or justice. What is the initial thing to do in order to make a road claim for such?

Being in this position should need a witness in order to make it work. It is very difficult to determine the party to pay for it. I think there is a government insurance assigned to such accident.

Best bet is to call a lawyer who can advise what to do.

There is the MIB or Motor Insurers Bureau that was set up specifically for the purpose of helping accident victims in this position. It is now possible to claim both personal injury compensation and property damage under the MIB hit and run accident scheme subject to some restrictions.

I am sure with al the CCTV around today it could be easy to find the car that was involved in the accident.

I just don't understand how any driver could just drive away from an accident.

I would imagine that it can be quite a shock to a driver if they hit someone. Running away from an accident can sometimes be a natural mental response for people who have been terrified by what they've done. It shouldn't always be judged as a cowardly or guilty act however unpleasant the situation.

Reporting at once to an authority and getting a lawyer can help this so that you can access the CCTV cameras and if possible the witnesses. Though now a days it is really difficult to clam one.

Anyone who could injure someone and just drive away is as cowardly as they come. My son and his friend were struck by a hit and run driver. The woman left him and his friend lying in the road. My son crawled to our door to get help for his friend who was lying unconscious before passing out himself. She was never caught.

That happened to me once. I got hit by one person, and then I got hit while I was waiting on the side of the road for the police, and the second car took off. The police never went after them because it was too late, and I was not able to see a license plate. I got paid for the first vehicle. Luckily, there was not much damage, and I sold my vehicle shortly after anyway. I just called my insurance company and claimed it. I would be liable for the deductible, if I chose to fix it.

Initially report it to file the incident. There is always hope to resolve it if it is still fresh and if it is really difficult to trace the suspect then that's the time you decide on calling a lawyer if it's worth the expenses.
